Custom Home — Denver

This rare property has had only two owners in its history and carries a unique place in Denver’s past. Originally used as a garden and orchard for a prominent local politician, the site later became home to a modest three-bedroom, one-bath residence built in the 1950s. In the 1970s, the home was expanded to include a fourth bedroom, a relocated bathroom, and a large sunroom—but over time, the property was left vacant and largely untouched.

Despite significant challenges, including foundation issues and the presence of asbestos, the home offered exceptional potential. Original architectural details such as coved ceilings, a generous 12,500-square-foot lot, a hillside setting, and mature trees made it clear this was a property worth reimagining. The client recognized what the home could become beyond its surface condition.

Harden Custom Homes completed a full-scale renovation that resolved structural concerns, replaced all mechanical systems, and reconfigured the floor plan to create an open, functional layout anchored by a sunken family room. The result is a thoughtfully modernized home that preserves the character of the site while delivering a comfortable, durable residence—ready to be enjoyed for generations to come in Northwest Denver.
